A Fearless Take on the Country Inn Aesthetic
Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire – The White Hart Hotel, a proudly independent and inclusive inn, has revealed a bold transformation that redefines countryside hospitality. In partnership with Larissa Greatrex Design, the hotel has unveiled a stunning redesign of three guest rooms alongside a refreshed restaurant interior—ushering in what it calls a “Camp Country” style.

This playful aesthetic fuses modern vibrancy with vintage character, offering guests a design-forward experience in the heart of South Oxfordshire. Expect leopard print carpets, standout textiles such as “Flash” in Monochrome from the Kirkby Design x Eley Kishimoto collection, and curated touches from the Sanderson x Giles Deacon collaboration.
Designed with Personality—and Purpose
Behind the eye-catching interiors lies a commitment to sustainable design. Much of the furniture across the redesigned spaces has been restored, refinished, and reupholstered by Larissa Greatrex herself—breathing new life into pieces that might otherwise have gone to landfill.

“We didn’t just redesign these rooms—we reimagined what a country hotel can feel like,” says Sanjay Dhrona, Owner of The White Hart Hotel. “It’s about style, sustainability, and soul. Just like the building itself, it’s a fresh chapter that honours the past while moving forward.”
This ethos extends beyond the bedrooms. In the restaurant, every piece of furniture was removed and reimagined, transformed through a hand-picked selection of fabrics to create a chic yet relaxed dining environment that reflects the mid-2020s design spirit.
The Hart of the Village—Evolving with Style and Talent
The transformation comes at a time when The White Hart continues to earn praise—not just for its unique interiors, but also for its young and creative kitchen team. The chefs are building a growing reputation across South Oxfordshire for seasonal, flavour-driven cuisine served in a relaxed but elevated setting.
Locals affectionately call it “The Hart of the Village”—a nod to its central role in the community and its forward-thinking spirit.
The redesigned rooms are now available to book online.
